nevermore71 63 Posted January 18, 2018 I had my surgery 10 days ago. And I still feel pain when walking, unless I support my stomach. The pain is in the largest incision region. It kind of makes me walk hunched over. Other than this pain is minimal. Do others have this pain? I thought the pain would be gone by now.
kat brown 12 Posted January 18, 2018 Your not alone! I had my sleeve on the 10th and I'm still walking around hunched and holding my scar where the Dr pulled out my stomach, I still have a hard time getting out of bed. Along with horrible rib pain. 1 nevermore71 reacted to this
TakingABreak 2,733 Posted January 19, 2018 Have either of you tried an abdominal binder? This would support your stomach while walking and possibly lessen the pain. 3 Little Green, nevermore71 and PrettyGyrl reacted to this
GreenTealael 25,439 Posted January 19, 2018 It's the abdominal muscles trying to repair themselves. Muscle pain lasts a while but it will get better a little bit each day. I still had intense pain for about 2.5 weeks then one day nothing at all! Then I sneezed and was brought back to reality. But eventually no more pain. 1 nevermore71 reacted to this
PrettyGyrl 8 Posted January 20, 2018 I had the same pain and got an abdominal binder and it worked like a charm. I’m a month post op and no longer need it....plus it’s way too big now for me to use! 1 nevermore71 reacted to this

Mine got a lot worse when I went back to work at around 2.5 weeks. I’m currently 4 weeks out and a few days ago it just disappeared. It went from crippling pain to normal almost overnight. My surgeon told me today that’s pretty common. I do recommend a binder while you wait it out. It didn’t cure my pain completely, but it did cut way back on the number of times I got a sharp pain at that incision site. It worked the best for me if I put it on while I was laying down. I figure that’s the position I was in while they stitched up those muscles, so if I bind my stomach in that position it will lessen the pulling. 1 Ready2018 reacted to this
