graziellabs 28 Posted January 18, 2018 My surgery is Monday January 22nd. I took a half of an oxycodon tonight which is 5 days before my surgery. I never take pain pills but I had another gallbladder attack and I needed relief and completely forgot don’t take any medicine the time frame before surgery. Will that 5mg really hurt or will they cancel my surgery because of it??? I am freaking out now because I really want to get this gallbladder out. In two weeks had two attacks and they are not fun. I also wanted to ask if anyone had horrible gas pains when they woke up from surgery like when you wake up from the gastric sleeve surgery. Please if anyone can help me I am nervous about the pain and now with this medicine I took.
Losebig 508 Posted January 18, 2018 Very unlikely it is an issue. It is completely out of your system in a couple days. You could call the dr and let them know. 1 Creekimp13 reacted to this
Creekimp13 5,840 Posted January 18, 2018 My gallbladder surgery was super easy. Had it at 7 in the morning, was home on the couch eating Subway turkey sandwich by 1pm. There's gonna be a little gas pain anytime they inflate you...lol....but walking helps. When my gallbladder was at it's worst, I found that cottage cheese was a safe food...and I never ate more of it in my life. I existed on it almost exclusively for three weeks...ugh! You're going to do just fine. It's not that bad, and you will be so glad to be done with the attacks. Hang in there!

Losingit2018 1,170 Posted January 19, 2018 It is the fat in foods/drinks that will bring on a gallbladder attack. Stick to fat free foods and you should be ok until surgery. The gallbladder contracts to release bile when fat is eaten and needs to be broken down.
