bookworm1983 28 Posted January 17, 2018 I had pain from my fatty liver diseae for years but it has gotten much more frequent and more painful since my surgery. I visited my surgeron today and they did a CT and blood work. Everything came back normal so I got, "Just keep following the diet and we will see you at your five week follow up appointent." Has anyone else dealt with this? How did you cope with the pain? It is horrible and it makes it hard to function day-to-day.
jess9395 5,449 Posted January 17, 2018 Fatty liver disease doesn't typically cause pain unless it has progressed to cirrhosis. If you think the pain is from your liver, do you have a heptologist you see? I would make an appointment with that doctor and check in. Your bariatric surgeon probably isn't as knowledgeable in that area and this could be dangerous if it's progressing to cirrhosis.
jess9395 5,449 Posted January 17, 2018 Could it possibly be gall bladder pain?
bookworm1983 28 Posted January 18, 2018 No gallbladder and no appendix. I have not seen a specialist but that is something that I will look into. Thanks! 1 jess9395 reacted to this
