Where to start?! First, I’m sooo excited that I found this awesome forum. Thanks to everyone that’s posting!

I’ve been thinking about attempting to get a band for about a year now and am finally ready to officially make the plunge. What pushed me over the edge is finding out I have Type 2 Diabetes. I’ve never been in the hospital or been sick, thinking that “it won’t happen to me”. Well, it has and I’m totally scared of future complications of being unhealthy. So, now I have a huge Lap-Band fire lit under me and I’m determined to make it happen.

After weeks of online research, I’ve found this website to be the best source of information. The thing that is most comforting to me is the honesty that seems to be constantly displayed by people sharing their experiences. I look forward to being a part of this community and sharing my journey with everyone.
