Xanax post-op?

Recommended Posts

Hello! Just a quick question. I've been on Xanax to control my panic attacks for about a year a d a half now. Pre-op, I could take a half mg and have no trouble staying awake. It just took the edge off enough that I could deal with what was happening. Now, 3 months post-op, I started needing to take it again and it puts me right to sleep!

Anyone else experience a change like this?

Talk to your team or your primary about the possibility of adjusting your dose.

Until I see my doctor next week, I'll just end up taking .25mg instead. That much is obvious really. I was just wondering if anyone else has experienced their anti-anxiety med being more potent.

Both the Strattera and the Ambien are working the same as they did pre-surgery. The Ambien may be slightly improved, I'm not really sure. All of the other prescription meds I take were either adjusted pre-surgery or prescribed post-surgery.

It's likely "more potent" bc of your weightloss.
