I got a message from the secretary on 1/10 letting me know she needed clearance for 2 more things. My psych eval(which was on friday and I was medically cleared)and then the results from my sleep study which is on 1/25 before she could schedule my surgery consultation.Well I got to thinking today what if I don't have sleep apnea which I feel I don't.However I emailed the doctor from there and she said it was determined I have mild sleep apnea and that we would go over exactly what that means when we meet next week as well as treatment for it.She also said to me that the Dr. office can call and find out that info so that it doesn't stall my surgery consultation being scheduled.Well with her saying that I now want to call the secretary and see if I can get an appointment for next friday to meet with the surgeon.I don't want it to seem like I'm being pushy but I'm anxious and I know I have some more waiting to do for insurance to approve me.I don't want to prolong the situation any more than it has to be.So my question is am I wrong if I want to call the secretary to see if she can schedule me for next friday to meet the surgeon? I don't want it to seem like I'm stepping on anyone's toes or being pushy

I'd give it a shot and just be very polite. You might also ask if they do a cancellation list or something if he is booked. I moved a few things around and my program was accommodating.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
