GreenTealael 25,439 Posted January 16, 2018 So apparently im losing slowly according to my NUT. Only lost 10lbs in a month. And only two months out. We confirmed that I was actually stalled for 3 weeks. We are trying to figure out why and what to do about it because it was along stall May need to bump up exercising to 6 days a week. I started out in the high 240s and by surgery I was 238. Two months post op I'm 209 Not mad at all, would have never gotten here alone, so no biggie to lose slowly. Anyone else a slow loser? 2 1 lpjenkin, Alpaca55 and Lolo 2020 reacted to this
Frankette 95 Posted January 17, 2018 My surgeon seemed disappointed in my loss at 3 weeks (16lbs) and said I should be under 200 by the time I go in for 6 week check in. Well tomorrow is my 6 week and I'm at 204. Im prepared for him to be dissapointed again but I am thrilled with 21lbs gone in 6 weeks. I've not been this weight in 6 years. I've not been cleared for gym yet so Im assuming that when I can exercise normally the weight will go faster. I feel like as long as I am doing what doc says and losing ... although slowly I'm happy. 3 GreenTealael, NewMeDay and seaforest reacted to this
GassyGurl 428 Posted January 17, 2018 I have lost 36.9 since my surgery in August (51.9 total since May) I traveled for surgery, so my followup have been via Facebook live and my surgeon never asked about my weight loss.He told me I could expect to lose 60# in a year, so I seem to be on track. It took me years to put it on, and I'm OK with it coming off slow. Sammy 10-30 57 Posted January 17, 2018 My surgeon has yet to place any weight loss expedition upon me and I do not believe it is appropriate. That's just my opinion. 6 JessLess, PrettyGyrl, Dshell and 3 others reacted to this

And a benefit is that your skin is more likely to catch up and shrink with you. 7 Project Me, heavenglo7, GreenTealael and 4 others reacted to this
Creekimp13 5,840 Posted January 17, 2018 I have no interest in losing most of my weight in the first six months. I want a nice slow steady weight loss over 18 months eating a forever diet. I didn't put it all on in a few months...this is gonna take time. Will give my skin a chance to reduce. I'm not expecting miracles..lol...but I do want to give my skin its best chance. 4 Alpaca55, Elsy, KatFight and 1 other reacted to this

TeahTeah 22 Posted January 17, 2018 At my 6 month check up my doctor told me I was losing too slow and I felt like a complete failure. He suggest I talk to a therapist. I left the office in tears. I am at 9 months out now and I have lost a total of 81 pounds and 53 pounds since surgery. I did have a couple weeks were I gained a pound or 2 and it felt like it took me forever to lose it again. I am beyond frustrated. 1 1 Alpaca55 and GreenTealael reacted to this

Sleevedincali 31 Posted January 18, 2018 Hi there! I have my three month post op appointment this Monday...I started at 278 and today am 233...so 45 pounds in 3 months...I believe that is on the slower side and I am totally fine with that and here is why: I am walking only a few times per week (waiting to see my levels at appointment), making good food choices 97% of the time, and feel AMAZING. I am trying to be realistic and do what works for me because going out and starting some crazy lifestyle that I know is not realistic will only lead to failure for me...the other things about losing slower are that people dont ask crazy "weight loss" questions and my skin isn't too bad (yet)...Ive had multiple stalls and I know for a FACT that one of them was due to too many "BLT's"..."bites, licks and tastes"! When I stopped the BLT's, the weight started coming of again. Lots of water...lots of sleep and good vibes seems to be the recipe for success:) 3 Coexister, wchunn@gmail.com and GreenTealael reacted to this
Kalyani 2 Posted January 18, 2018 I started at a similar weight to you and had lost 23 lbs two months out from surgery (about 10 lbs per month). My surgeon and nutritionist told me that I was right on track! (They based that on the percentage of excess weight that I had lost, as is the standard.) My weight loss has stalled a bit now but it has been slower all along than others have experienced. That being said - I feel good and don't have many problems with loose skin I like to keep data about my progress, then I can make things like graphs to visualize it. So far, I think it is helping (even though I missed weighing myself for a week). I guess you have to figure out what works to motivate you. I am not your doctor, of course, but it sounds to me like you are doing okay. 2 Coexister and GreenTealael reacted to this
