I am actually going through a surgeon in Dallas-Dr.Cribbins. He comes highly recommended and then all my aftercare will be through the Family Clinic in Calhoun with Rita Zuber.

Is this Walter or Frank Sartor? Must you have a referral to see him? I am desperate for lap band. I can't get enough to eat and I am sick of it.

hi i am from Bastrop. Who did your surgery? Do you recommend them?

My surgeon was Dr. Cribbins in Dallas, TX. I responded to your pm with extra info. Let me know if you need anything else.

I was scheduled with Walter Sartor on 3/11 but had to have a cardiac clearance. I don't have a new date as yet. I know a couple of ladies who have used him with much happiness! You do not need to have a referral to get an appt with him.

Thanks so much for the info! I am so glad I don't have to have a referral. I don't weigh nearly as much as I used to thanks to diabetes...but I can't control my quantity intake. I think I'll try to make an appointment with him after Easter. Do you know if they are a BlueCross/BlueShield provider? Also, did you insurance help out any?

How soon after your 3/3 surgery did you get your 1st fill? Are you able to keep down liquids now, after your 3rd fill or did you have to be un-filled some? I am scheduled with Dr. Sartor the first week of May.

Thanks for the response. Hope you get adjusted better to get those liquids and needed food down. I did see the doctor and am waiting on insurance approval. Hope to have surgery late May, early June!

seems as no one has been on this forum for some time, but FYI and for what it is worth, my Rheumatologist in Monroe, LA recommended Dr Walter Sartor and has even had Dr Sartor operate on Him!!!!!!!! that says a lot to me, any comments appreciated!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
