Protien powders in pureed Soup. Yogurt. Cottage cheese. oatmeal thinned with milk.

Best to check with your program and see what they recommend as each program is different.

Pureed foods on day four seems a bit soon to me, but again, each program is different.

Best wishes!

My surgeon gave out a small handbook on post OP diet and most helpful thing in it was a recipe for high Protein hot chocolate.

Using Protein Powder make a smooth paste with cold Water add chocolate packet and stur it into the paste, lastly add hot but not boiling water to the mix and viola!

I was able to make mine 20 grams of protein in 10 oz.

Also premier caramel shake added to decaffeinated coffee as Creamer is luxurious...

I did lentil Soup puréed, vegetable beef soup puréed, chicken salad (lots of FF mayo dressing and keep most of the Water from canned chicken), scrambled eggs (may not meet your definition) and Protein Shakes. You can try freezing a Protein Shake for something different too. Puréed tuna is horrible (tastes like sand). Unfortunately it's tough to get Protein at that stage without shakes. One thing you may want to try if they try to do low carb is Powerade zero VS G2, G2 has some carbs in it and to me they taste about the same.

Good luck!

I’m 4 days post op and I’m allowed to have puréed foods as long as I purée them to a liquid. (Straw doesn’t stand up in it) so far the only thing I have tried is refried Beans, gatorade G2, Premier Protein and Water. Please give me Protein ideas!!!! I’m already sick of my Protein Shakes.

Try Protein20 its very low in calories and it doesn't taste bad. They have many different flavors.

My doctors team said to use shakes, products that are Protein isolate rather than protein concentrate. Apparently isolate is easier digested. Premier Protein shakes is concentrate not isolate. Premier does have a protein Water though that is isolate. I found the cheapest place to by Protein2o is Walmart were you can get a 12 pack for around $17.

Dal is an Indian dish that can be anywhere from smooth like a Soup to a thick puree, It is made from split peas or lentils but I think chickpeas can also be used.
Dal is a staple in india because most indians are vegetarian and lentils are high in Protein.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
