6 month weight gain?!?

Recommended Posts

Anyone else experience this? I have only gained 2 pounds but worried about gaining more. I haven’t changed my diet or anything so I don’t understand!

How many carbs are you eating in a day?

Without knowing more about your situation, you probably aren't eating enough for 6 months out. I'm a lot taller than you, yes, but at 6 months post-op, I was consuming about 1200 calories per day. 800 is really low for anyone, especially if you are exercising at all...

2 lbs? I’d worry if it were 10lbs or more and it all happened within a week or two. Most likely Water weight. Also, is it almost that “time”? Have you been eating more salt then usual? Are you stressed at work, school, home-life? So many factors can be addressing that 2 lbs, but try not to worry about it, Check again in a week after altering a little something in your life that you know might be hindering your results. If not, still check in a bout a week or two, it’ll probably be gone and/or you’ll have a good loss. Hope this helps.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
