ancirasd 44 Posted January 12, 2018 When was everyone able to eat ice cream? I like the Mochi ice cream when is green tea ice cream wrapped in rice paper but idk how well I’d do with that. But I heard halo top ice cream is good but I’m scared to try it. Also what are your guys thoughts on Protein Bars? 1 timetraveler reacted to this
Biddy zz 🏳️🌈 1,004 Posted January 12, 2018 I made a decision to stay away from ice cream. 😥 I have noticed in my month since surgery, that the less sweet stuff I eat, when I do (like a sweet Protein drink) I find the sweetness overbearing. For me I think I am better trained to not want sweet, trying to break the sweetness addiction. Protein bars - there are some great ones. Quest bars ar really good - I took another member’s advice, so cut one into small chunks and put in a plastic bag, and bring out a bit as a treat during the day... 2 shelleys goal and lpjenkin reacted to this

And it wasn’t the reason I got the surgery either. My genetics made my metabolism really slow. I eat pretty healthy and exercised 6 days a week. I just want ice cream. 1 shelleys goal reacted to this

GotProlactinoma 458 Posted March 13, 2018 I feel sick if I eat any sweets so I plan to not eat ice cream ever. I think it’s crazy to eat sweets. Eating them will make you crave them. I’m glad right now they still make me sick. I can’t eat any baked goods at all. I’m so happy about that. Last night I made a kick ass cornbread for the family and put one bite in my mouth and was sorry. There is a queasy dizzy unpleasant feeling from one bite or a bread type thing. Why the HELL would I want to push past that? I want to enjoy life and I don’t need dessert to do that. Only if I avoid sweets will I not be fat. Maybe that is different for others, but for me, I want to avoid sugary things or sweet tastes. I can be very satisfied by a juicy piece of meat maybe in garlic or covered with sautéed mushrooms or onions.... mmmmmm, and actually good for me.

Also what are your guys thoughts on Protein Bars? I eat Halo Top ice cream at least once or twice a week. Usually less than a serving. I don't feel guilty at all eating Halo Top and it satisfies my sweet tooth. For anyone who is going to guilt me, sorry not sorry!
Matt Z 4,139 Posted March 15, 2018 Halo Top is less "Ice Cream" and more "Frozen Protein Shakes" (But it's still "ice cream") So if you WERE going to cave, it would be a good option. Something I've figured out that REALLY has been helping me along with my Pre-Op diet is this frozen Jello ice that I make using watermelon. 2 boxes of sugar free jello 2 cups liquefied watermelon Boil 2 cups of Water, add in 2 boxes of jello, mix as instructed, then instead of adding more water, add the 2 cups of watermelon, divvy up and freeze. They make amazingly tasty Italian ice style ices with no added sugars. 1 TakingABreak reacted to this
