Hi everyone!

This is my first post so if you respond I really appreciate it! Okay, so for the past two months I have been thinking about joining the gym.

Whats is stopping me?

1. I dorm in my university and they do have a gym however, it is overly crowded and they have only a couple of machines. I feel uncomfortable being there.

2. Motivation

3. The cost

Okay so I have been looking at a couple of gyms in my current county which is is Mercer County and I have thought about joining Planet Fitness. Only because it seems like it is a cheap alternative and it would be easy to get there. However, I was wondering if Planet Fitness has trainers? If so, how much do you pay for a trainer? As you know I am on a college budget but I really want to lose more weight because I have been stalling for a really long time. For a couple of months actually. Let me know what you guys think! I am open to other alternatives and advice!

Take care!:D

I'd use the money for a Fitbit and start with walking. So many fun places to go on campus and you might find a friend to do challenges with.

What’s the weather? Up here in the northeast I’m only exercising indoors now. I go to !pay as you go’ places so no membership. I’m sure there are student discounts for those type of places ( Barre, spin, yoga, etc ). I do like the walking idea! If you have good weather it’s the best and the Fitbit is great too or you can just get a tracker app on your phone.
Good luck!

Hi! I’m a member of planet fitness and I love it. They call it the judgement free zone and I’ve actually felt like this is true. It’s only $10 a month if you do the basic membership or at least it is where I live. I think there might be a start up fee, but I’m not positive since I’ve been a member for so long. They have personal trainers that are free with the membership, but it’s not always one on one. A few months ago I met with a trainer and she put together a work out plan for me, but that was it. There was one other person in the meeting. I didn’t follow the plan, but I’m hoping to meet with a trainer again to get a new plan. They don’t continuously meet with you as far as I know, but you can sign up for as many classes as you want. I hope this helps!

That’s awesome I think I might check them out. Should I go in person or online?

If your looking mostly for cardio, planet fitness is great for the price. If you want to lift weights and cardio retro fitness is $22 a month and you can go to any of their gyms. Planet fitness is $10 but you can only use the location you joined.
