Has anyone taken
Ursodial for gallstones.. prevention?

If so..

Were there any side effects?

Was the medication effective?

Great question! I haven’t thought about this because I don’t start taking mine until 2weeks post op. I’m only 7 days out.

Yes, I started mine on Friday and have to be on it for a total of 3 months. I have not noticed any side effects yet. So far it’s effective, as I don’t have gallstones.

I found a few reviews but There aren't very many..

I think maybe if it helps prevent gallbladder problems..it's definitely something I would take during the rapid weightloss period.

As long as the side effects weren' too bad.

Yes, it's only a few weeks, but in my program you start it 2 weeks out and take it for a year. No side effects so far. It's too early to say it's working, but based on the data my program has it does work

I started mine yesterday during my pre-op diet. Forgot to take the first one but took one last night and the only thing I really noticed was a tightening in my jaw. Not horrible, just odd and uncomfortable. Because of that I decided to stick with taking just one instead of two for now

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
