Krista27 341 Posted January 9, 2018 My surgery is 1/18. Over the weekend I had to go to the ER and they found that I have a kidney infection. Do you think that will delay my surgery? My guess is that you'll be ok for surgery, but it's best to let your surgeon know ASAP in case they want to switch you up to a more powerful antibiotic or something. So I'm going to see my regular dr tomorrow and getting a referral to urology. I was so close. But I know probably better than anyone that I need to be in good health before my surgery. I've had an episode after a surgery before that my body went into septic shock. So this is for the best just disappointing. FluffyChix 17,418 Posted January 10, 2018 Aw man! Sucks!!!! But so much better to be on the safe side, especially since it's a UTI thing. There are so many awful bugs for this area right now--and with your history, that would just be tragedy to have to battle septicemia in addition to a typical post surgical situation! Hopefully the infection responds to the medicine and you'll get into urology and in 10-15 days you'll have your clearance and new date!!! Saying prayers sweetie!
