I wanna workout so bad I can taste it [emoji30][emoji30][emoji30]

Whennnnnn can I workout???!!!!!! I’m 11 days VSG post op and I feel AMAZING!!!! I went from 275-252.4. 23 lbs down baby! I’ve pretty much been able to tolerate everything but juice that isn’t diluted. Although it’s no sugar added, I still felt some discomfort but it wasn’t too bad. My incisions look great. The only one that still hurts to the touch in that one where they actually pulled the stomach thru. That ish hurtttsssssss! But for the most part I feel wonderful! I wanna get back in the gym. My boyfriend bought me some resistance bands but I’m a person that loves the gym so this is killing me slowly 🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️ (not literally). I don’t go for a follow up until the end of the month [emoji30]. I’m not a treadmill girl. I literally go hard in the gym (which of course I know I can’t do) but what can I do that’s safe but will still give me that good old sweat filled fulfillment??? TMI but can I at least be intimate with my boo?? 🤭Help me! Lol help a sista out!

Don’t work out at all until month 2. It’s extremely important to let your body heal. Working out can hinder your healing process.

My dr told me no workouts, but screw all I want. Just be extra cautious to not allow bodily fluids into your incisions. They need to stay clean to heal with no complications

I know that feeling! I had my gallbladder removed about two weeks ago and I asked the surgeon about when I could go back to the gym so many times that he just told me I would end up with a hernia if I went sooner than four weeks.

I rested for one week, cleaned up the entire house on the second week and then I went to the gym. I did not do any abdominal exercises or weight lifting. I went on the elliptical and walked on the treadmill. Don’t push it and listen to your body. If you fall from the elliptical because you are not able to consume the calories and you just worked out or you are dehydrated, you are in trouble. If I were you, I would walk a lot. Or even if you do go to the gym, take it very very easy.

I have four similar incisions from my gallbladder surgery as I had for the gastric sleeve and I did the same thing for when I had that surgery. No weight lifting what so ever unless you want to to prolong your healing process and be bed bound for even longer!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Had a sleeve in 2017, lost over 100 pounds. Had a DS surgery this year (2025) for more sustainable weight loss. 🤞

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
