Post op- surgery was 26th of Dec

Hello everyone, I'm 11 days post op and today a had a stick of string cheese. I chewed it up very well but obviously it was a mistake. With the blizzard my Protein Shakes didn't come on time and I had to babysit last minute so I had the cheese. I plan on calling my doctor monday and letting him know. My concern is that I felt no restriction after eating the cheese, I haven't felt restriction regarding my fluids either. I'm worried that my sleeve was botched. Is this possible?? Btw the cheese did not harm me in anyway and I drank lots of Water after, I plan on going back to full Protein Shake the remainder of my week until I can start greek yogurts.

You don’t feel full with liquids because liquids form to your stomach and you can usually fit more liquids into your tummy because they have give. Don’t be alarmed. Mines the same way. I had Tomato Soup today and was content but I had cream of wheat yesterday and was stuffed. It’ll get better! I was worried about the same thing. Sleeved 12/28

A lot of people will not feel many restrictions with Fluid only as you progress along in the liquids stage. It’s not anything wrong with you or your surgery. It’s is how our bodies work. One of the reasons you may have not felt full eating the cheese is because you were drinking a lot of Water with it. The pylorus is a muscle located between your sleeve and your duodenum. It contracts and keeps food in your stomach longer to break it down further before progressing into the intestine. When there is a lot of fluid introduced with food, it become diluted enough to pass through the opening faster. That is why the 30/30 rule exists. Don’t drink 30 min before or 30 min after eating a dense food so it stays in our stomachs longer and we feel satisfied.
You had to do what you had to do, and string cheese doesn’t sound that bad. Glad it didn’t hurt you, that would have sucked! but I think once you are off liquids and follow the 30/30 rule, you will be satisfied and full.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
