Does anyone have any experience with the vitamin patches? Trying to hopefully curb the number of pills (and tbh, I forget them constantly), hoping the Patches might be a good alternative. Thoughts?

This is what I'm looking at, btw:

I agree.

I mean, if I can slap a few Patches on my ass and call it a day- I'm game! Just want to make sure they actually work before I drop $60-$70/month on them

My dietitian today said she's reluctant to recommend them as they have seen some people using them coming back with deficiencies. Thats just anectdotal so do your own research. I'm giving the Tespo liquid Vitamin dispenser a try. So far I really like it. Next week I'll get pre-op labs done and can see how my levels look.

It would be great if they'd publish the PatchMD clinical trial results!

We offer a 100% money back guarantee on all products we sell. If you don't like your labs after using the Patches, we will refund your money.

We do have a notice posted on all PatchMD products we sell:

Nutritional patches are a new technology. As with any nutritional supplements, consumers should use nutrition patches according to their healthcare providers' recommendations and regularly monitor nutrient levels through lab work as they would when taking any dietary supplements.

Nice! Good to know!

My base levels are good to begin with, so hopefully, I won't need crazy levels of supplements. I feel much better knowing that if my labs come back crazy I can get the refund, though! :1310_thumbsup_tone1: Fingers crossed that they work for me, it seems like an awesome alternative!

I recently bought the 1-month multipack (multivitamin [looks like it's not "bariatric" though], D3, Iron, & B12) from Bariatric Pal, and I'm hoping to have a positive outcome on my next labs.

I'm also going with the Tespo, just waiting for it to arrive. I ordered the bariatric women's formula. It looks fanatic. I'll be having the RNY so I'll definitely need great supplements for the rest of my life. This looked like a good alternative.
@VSGnewguy

Please let us know how your labs come back!

Thought I would report back. After using Tespo Bariatric Complete formula for about 6 weeks, I got my lab results. Everything looked good with the exception of my Vitamin D, which was in range but on the low side. So, I'm going to add a D3 supplement daily. Hope this helps.

Haven't had labs drawn yet (next week), but I've been using the Patches for about a week. The last few days I've been having issues with the patches staying on all day. I'll go to take my shirt off at night or something and it just peels half the patch off, and then you can't restick it. I'm going to try to put them in a different location and see if that helps.

VSGNEWGUY Thanks so much for your posting. Tonight I ordered the Tespo dispenser (spoken about in your post here) and the women's Bariatric Complete pods. It came to $147.00. I started to leave as I don't get paid until tomorrow but as I did a coupon for $50.00 off popped up and I couldn't resist. So I just got the dispenser for $49.99 instead of $99.00. My pods will be $48.00 a month and I pay a lot more than that for all the Vitamins I have to take which will be covered with the three pods. If your interested in getting the system leave the site before you enter a credit card and you too might get a $50.00 coupon off too. If not there is a $30.00 off coupon that comes up when you first get to the site. However you can remove that coupon code and enter the $50.00 off one. I should get my items in 5 to 7 days. Hope my next labs due in Feb will be good.

Glad I got Tespo instead of the Patches. Part of the nutrition package that comes with my program is a six month supply of the Multivitamin patches. Since they were sort of free, I decided to try them out. Here's a picture of the reaction my skin had to the patch...wont be trying that again!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
