Had my sleeve on 12/21 so I am week 2 now, just wondering if anyone else's diet is this limited? (Mine is even more so than what is written I am allergic to artificial sweeteners so that takes off the Protein Shake and anything "diet" or "light") how do you deal with such a limited menu? (Week 3 is pretty much the same add eggs and tuna)

I ate a lot of cottage cheese, oatmeal, coco wheats, apple sauce and mashed potatoes.

yep, it's hard. Yep, mine was just like that...except in week one, I was expected to drink a lot of Protein Shakes and get my 60-80g of Protein.

Doesn't last that long. You'll be back to more foods before you know it.

I know it's tough. Hang in there!

You're allergic to every kind of artificial sweetener?

They do make Protein Shakes without sweeteners as well

And yes the early phases are very limited, that's why it's best to make a routine and stick with what you like. Even if it's boring, it's temporary

Are there any sweeteners you can handle? Can you handle any extracts? I use the vitacost liquid stevia.

Sorry you're having a rough go! ((hugs)). I'd make homemade Bone Broth (chicken and beef) and add Isopure unflavored Protein powder to the broth in order to get my protein in.

I'd blend up frozen strawberries and blueberries in my plain smoothies and then strain them until I didn't have to strain them any more.

Your menu is 100% my menu. But I can have the non-sugar sweeteners and flavor extracts listed. Hang tough!!!!! You got this! Maybe talk to your nutritionist. She told me I could add chicken baby food to my Soups as long as it was pourable.

In week two, my surgeon recommended homemade chicken Soup with dark meat chicken and the veggies chopped small. I also could drink low fat milk and I ate a lot of cheese. Hopefully this helps!!

I’m on week two post op and I was told for the next 3 weeks all I can have is two Protein Shakes a day, one item as a meal ( SF Jell-O or pudding, vegetable Soup with no Pasta or rice blended, plain Greek yogurt, farina and mashed potato made with chicken broth )48 to 96 ounces of Water, one sugar-free ice pop – because I begged for a snack. I’m feeling this

You should be getting close to time for the ricotta bake casserole. I want to make it for my son and I although I haven't had surgery yet. It does sound good. Also check Fluffy Chix Old with the Old In with the New postings, she is going through the different stages as well.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
