over_and_over_again 21 Posted December 31, 2017 I am going to have to really think about how much (little!) I am eating when I am in the grocery store and adjust the volume of food that I buy. Last week I bought eggs, a few pounds of chicken, a couple of sweet potatoes, and maybe three zucchini. I was worried that it wouldn't be enough for the week. Now I am whipping up Soup and purees to freeze because there is no way I can get through it when a bite or three of something fills me up. And my fridge is full of bowls that have a half portion of something in them .... a quarter cup of Greek yogurt or an ounce of chicken that I couldn't finish. I am going to have to change my stockpiling mentality! This is a bizarre experience. 4 Alex Brecher, Mommyof2grlz, FluffyChix and 1 other reacted to this
Creekimp13 5,840 Posted December 31, 2017 I'm glad I have a dog that loves eating what's left over....cause my eyes are way bigger than my tummy on most plates I make. Really new experience and I kinda dig it:) 1 FluffyChix reacted to this
FluffyChix 17,415 Posted December 31, 2017 @over_and_over_again No kidding right? It's a surreal idea! I have already planned that from now on out, we'll essentially be cooking for 1, rather than 2!
Myaiku_Kuraitani 245 Posted December 31, 2017 I'm still getting used to that and I'm 9 months post op. I love the idea. Just gotta avoid making chili or Soup since I live alone and my freezer is tiny. LolHw-273Sw-226CW-146GW-130Size- 4 or 6, Small in sweats. Apple203 1,314 Posted December 31, 2017 Sounds like when the kids move out -- we still overbuy stuff like lunchmeat and meats in general!! 1 FluffyChix reacted to this

My 'prescription' literally ran out in my 4 1/2 month. It was like I had extreme restriction still for Breakfast, then for lunch, I ate my regular half chicken breast but it no longer filled me like before. Sigh, I miss being able to go to Culver's for Soup, or Wendy's for chili, and have these cartons scattering about my fridge, that my husband would finish. I'm 8 months out and can eat a small chili from Wendy's, which is still good, don't get me wrong. But still . Just enjoy it while it lasts. 1 FluffyChix reacted to this
redhead_che 824 Posted January 2, 2018 I noticed this too! Thankfully I too have someone to finish my portions. Still getting the hang of that. We also have containers of random foods half eaten
Sullie06 1,013 Posted January 2, 2018 I'm a year out and my eyes are still bigger than my stomach for sure. I used to keep everything as leftovers but it began to take over my fridge so now I pick and chose, sometimes I just chuck it, there are only so many days I can eat the same things.
