Don't you just hate stoma spewing? Band barfing? It's not a freak'en PB, it's BARFING!

I ate a salad for lunch today. That would have been almost 10 hours ago. Got stuck, finally barfed. Lettuce came shooting out my nose.

I do believe I am over salads for the time being.

Better yet, I am pretty sure a piece of lettuce is still stuck in my sinus.

Blahhhhhh.... I'm not liking this.

It's better than rice, though. I've done that (not PBing, just managed to sneeze it up there), and it HURTS like hell.

Oh, I once laughed whilst eating a (VERY) hot jam donut and steaming hot jam went up inside and out my nose. Man, that hurt. I actually got quite bad burns, was in agony for a week.

I hope there's really no lettuce in there, or you're going to sneeze out one very embarrassing booger probably at the most inopportune time, or worse, you'll get a sinus infection.

perhaps you'd better PB some saline?

I'm just glad the band is around my stomach instead of my neck. I've been sneezing all evening. Can you imagine if that was a bandster barf? :) I guess it's a bandster sneeze!

You are right, it will wait until I'm around someone.

Ever see a dog when something is up their nose? They sneeze over and over again? I feel a bit like my Shih tzu right now.

Well at least you had an economical barf!!! I did that on my lobster dinner last night and spent about 15 mins in the restroom creating my very own "lobster bisque"...

....is that what they were marketing as the 'salad shooter' a few years ago???

You mean I could have made money off that episode? I'll have you know it didn't end until 6:30AM this morning! I tried to go to bed for an hour and gave up, sleep wasn't gonna happen.

But the salad did finally shoot out of my sinus. Of course, now it's 8:30AM and I have stuff to do. No sleep for me!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
