Who knows, but why question it? LOL. Maybe you've broken a stall...maybe the hectic pace of the holidays is giving you more exercise than you realize? Maybe you're eating fewer calories than you think, even though you're indulging a bit?

If you'e really concerned, maybe get a physical and have some lab work done to make sure all is well. Are you feeling well? Any other concerning symptoms?

If not...count your blessings and enjoy it!

that's not going to last forever. Focus on developing healthy habits. It gets way harder the farther out you get.

addendum - wait - you're a year out and dropping weight while eating crap? I thought at first you were a new post-op. If there's no way to explain that, then I'd mention it to my doctor.

I think you need to call your doctor. It may turn out to be something simple, but I sure would want to know.

Agreed. A good physical and some blood work sounds like a very good idea.

I think you're describing the text-book definition of "good luck". <GRIN>

Maybe you were eating too little? In the past when I have lost weight on my own, if I did it using a really low calorie diet, I would have the same thing happen. It was only temporary and eventually if I continued, I would end up gaining. It did help to break stalls though, sometimes you have to eat more.

I dropped weight until
About 15 months- basically eating whatever the crap I wanted too. Literally. I mean very little of it but still-whatever I wanted . It stopped at 18 months. I gained 5 pounds then - enough to freak me out

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
