I’m in the same boat I’m 2 years out in March and I’ve regained exactly how much I’m to scared to look lately but it was 5kgs a few months back drinking alcohol has been the biggest issue as I get drunk fast but I use to never drink prior to surgery now I do every night except the last week I’ve stopped
I can also eat bread and chocolate and lollies I was sleeved and wish I had chosen RNY so I’d atleast get dumping and not continue to eat bad things
I snack all the time and don’t exercise I’m miserable I
Was self pay and cannot believe I’m having these issues now I was so good in the beginning so strict
Please let me k ow how your going with your weight loss

I will most definitely let you know how things are going with the weight loss. Snacking and drinking are my 2 biggest challenges as well, but I keep reminding myself of everything I sacrificed to lose the weight and I just can't let it fall by the wayside.

I find my self these last few days wishing I had chosen the RNY instead of sleeve as someone explained how there doctor explained how their doctor explained the two surgery’s and that was I’d you like sweet things and have no will power rny is for you if you can work out and a strict sleeve is for you no I find myself full of regret that I chose the wrong surgery

You beautiful women who did regain and are getting back on track: what would your advice be for those still in the losing months? For example, I am almost 6 months out, losing slowly but steadily. I don’t eat any carbs except natural ones like vegetables and potatoes. I focus on Protein. I don’t eat any sugar except a homemade granola made with seeds and oats that is made with a bit of maple, and I only eat 2.5 Oz of that a day. I do eat 85-90% dark chocolate, maybe 2-4 squares a day. Total calories around 1000 a day, total protein I try for 60 g a day, most days I make it. And I lose 1-2 lbs a week usually. I exercise but not as much as I want to.

I have given up almost all fruit (might have one bite a day), all dessert and breads and processed carbs. Do you guys think this is enough? If I could stay with this, would it prevent me gaining the weight I lose back? My only drink is Water, period. (I made a hot chocolate over the holidays with 85% dark chocolate bits mixed into hot milk, only drank 2 oz). No Desserts other than that dark chocolate.

if I stay away from the carbs will I be able to not regain? If you had avoided empty carbs, would you have not needed to re-lose? Thanks for the advice.

All if you sound awesome and look so good. I know you will get back on track. Much success to you!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
