I really prefer to eat clean less tummy issues but since i need my insurance to cover my surgery i need to weight at least 250 which i float in between 245 and 250 i was 252 when i weighed a couple weeks ago. weighed myself last night i was 249 what the heck i have been eating carbs like a crazy person. when i eat healthy the weight seems to not budge i feel better but weight stays the same. if i fall below 250 my BMI goes to 39 i have been stuck in my 240's for years i dont know what to do.

I'm with you, but maybe just have a few days of super salty stuff right before you have to weigh in. I don't know about you, but sodium makes me blow up like crazy! Recently gained 12 pounds in a week thanks to good old chinese food.

It's winter. Just way heavier clothes...and layers.

Have you weighed yet at your Dr's office to know how they operate? I've read where some docs are really lax, even letting you weigh in with a purse. Mine made me take my shoes and jacket off, and put purse down. Also be prepared for a BP check, and maybe even basic physical exam.
Fishing weights work well in a coin pocket. 4oz each, and it's possible to fit 4. Or so I've read.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
