Anyone scheduled for February 2018???

Recommended Posts

my surgery date is February 8th! i'm mostly excited and a bit nervous...very anxious for the day to get here. The last thing I have to do is a stress test which is scheduled for January 22nd at my pre-op appointment. I've already started my pre-op diet to get my BMI below 50. so far so good....if anyone is on IG, I just started one to document everything, short_sleeve_me

Good luck to everyone!!

My surgery is on Feb. 19th in Mexico. I share the same feelings about being nervous and even sometimes talking myself out of this. I had started the Paleo diet just before Thanksgiving and have lost 12lbs. When I think that I don't need surgery, I just have to remember that I have been dieting on and off since 5th grade and I'm now 57! Time to take control!

So, I've been so anxious. Had some bad weather in Jersey a couple of my appointments were cancelled. Now I have to rush to fit everything in. So far, my date remains 2/7 and today I go for my ultrasound. Yesterday, the surgeons office submitted my paperwork for approval. It took like a week to get it submitted because the Nutritionist didn't send the right information. Anxiety is definitely creeping in. Right now I feel like, if things can go bad they will but I am a fighter and I want this soooo bad!

My surgery is now scheduled for 2/09/18. I am beyond ready for it. I was originally scheduled for today 1/18 but got sick and it had to be rescheduled.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
