These closed and sealed beautifully after nine to ten days. The stitching thread fell away between 12 and 14 days. I rubbed the incisions with a little extra virgin olive oil most days. ZERO itching. A residue of red/purple skin colour at all six incision sites.
JukeboxJess 15 Posted December 24, 2017 Yes! I was sleeved on the 18th. I'm taking Benadryl, too. But I naturally react to a lot of stuff, including adhesives... So my IV site is worse. Is your skin yellowing around the incisions, too? I assume it's bruising, but...Sent from my Pixel using BariatricPal mobile app

GreenTealael 25,446 Posted December 24, 2017 I did too and I didn't take benadryl because I assumed it was because of normal healing (like any other itchy cut) so I very carefully cleaned the areas with alcohol and it helped a ton.
KarenOR 180 Posted December 24, 2017 Can you try a topical Benadryl? You are probably reacting to the glue. I have had reactions to adhesives for years. Those are usually worse than whatever was being removed or stitched up.
KarenOR 180 Posted December 24, 2017 Also, maybe some coconut oil. That seems to be a miracle solution to a lot of things 1 rochagurl757 reacted to this
Creekimp13 5,840 Posted December 24, 2017 If the redness spreads, and the incisions start to feel hot...have them looked at. A little redness and itching is pretty normal. Mine are starting to look terrific (3 weeks out)...but for a while after I took the bandages off, they were pretty red and itchy.
JerseyGrl00 1 Posted December 24, 2017 I have a little redness and itching as well. I am allergic to the surgical tape they used and I haven't called the doctor yet because for me I know that's what it is. I also am allergic to Benedryl.

TX_KB 29 Posted December 25, 2017 Yes I have the glue and am having redness and itching. I’m sensitive to adhesives.
EagerPenguin 159 Posted December 25, 2017 Like most everyone else said, it's probably the glue. My incisions are still itchy where there are residual pieces of the dermabond.
