Getting breast augmentation- what to do about sides of breasts?

Recommended Posts

Hey all, been a while since I’ve been here!

To make a long story short, I had lap band done in May 2013 followed by a lower body lift and arm lift in 2015. In August 2016, I had my lap band removed and revised to gastric sleeve. I’ve lost (at most) 200 lbs to date which also gave me the courage to start my gender transition last year.

As part of that, I will be getting a breast augmentation soon but am wondering what can be done for the excess skin between my breasts and back (below my arms). My back skin is also quite loose in that area. I know the implants will push the skin a -little- forward but the surgeon I consulted with said it would mostly remain. What options are out there?

Thanks!

I’ve been looking at before and after augmentations / lifts of post WLS patients and when shown from the back, that side and back fat seems to be gone. I think you will need to weigh whether to go with a surgeon used to male to female surgery, or one who specializes in Post bariatric. Or have two surgeons consult with each other WITH YOU no matter which one performs your surgery. They each specialize in getting the great look their patient wants, but you have two different special needs. Your surgeons work for YOU. I’m sure you will find the solution. For straight up post WLS boob lifts and augments, that side fat is gone after, though. So they know how to whatever it to make it gone. Good luck to you in all things!

I had an extended breast lift.. it took away the horrible excess skin which the breast used to ‘run into’.

Congrats on the fantastic weight loss !

Fabulous times. A bra line cuts off the back skin

I had what the surgeon called a bra lift along with a reduction and lift. What they did is I have incisions on both sides along my bra line where he removed excess skin. I still have some excess skin under my arms which I thought would be gone once I had my arms done but it’s still there but nothing compared to where I was

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
