How much weight lossttrr

Recommended Posts

I know everyone is different but what is the average weight you should be losing each week? I am 11 Days out and have lost about 8 pounds. I thought in the beginning it would be a little faster. I am more than excited about how much I have lost both pre and post-op, but am looking forward to feeling better when I get more off. I just seem to be the same weight the past few days when I was losing about a pound a day in the beginning.

HW - 316

SW - 269

CW - 261

GW - 150

I was doing 1-2lbs a day pre-surgery on the liver reduction diet (20 lbs total) - then post op I was doing anywhere from 1-4lbs a day for the first 2 weeks. Then that slowed to about 1-2lbs every other day. Now that I am over 6 weeks - it has slowed to about 1-3lbs a week. I am told 1-2lbs a week is normal for the rest of the year.

There is no set amount.

Look for the tend.

You may have 'flat' weeks where you feel you lost noting.

I am nearing the TEN-WEEK mark post-surgery. The weekly amounts lost in kilograms have been: 1.5, 3.0, 0.4, 1.5, 0.4, 1.7, 2.1, 0.9, 2.0 and 1.1 for a total of 14.6 kilograms.

That's equal to 32.2 pounds post-op.

Average per week so far 1.62 kg (or 3.57 pounds).

But I am a 61yo man that was more than double his desired weight. Two months post-op, I am on a very intensive exercise support program; others do less exercise or just incidental exercise.

Some people live on 800-900 calories per day, strictly monitored and strictly logged. I tend to eat 1200-1330 calories average as I exercise a lot.

Don't just look at one person ... look at a range.

Asking how many pounds a person should lose a week is like asking how long a pair of pants should be. There isn't a one size fits all for this.

And 8 pounds in 11 days is a pretty good start! I've lost 73.6 so far in 17 weeks since surgery (plus 26.4 before on the pre-op diet) and I've only gone as high as six three times. It adds up though.

Basically my point to the OP in my response.

Sooooo many factors come into play!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
