Gigee 0 Posted October 23, 2007 <p>Hi, my name is Gigee and I'm new to lapbandtalk.com. I'm so glad there are so many of us out there. I joined the band on September 14, 2007. Everything went extremely well. I did not have any after surgery pain. My recovery was swift (my husband and boys took great care of me). I went to work a week after the surgery. I could have gone back sooner but I was having so much fun being pampered and spoiled by my hubby and kids. My first post-op doctor visit was on 10/25. I lost a total of 17 1/2 lb. It would have taken me at least 8 weeks to lose that much weight without the band. My first fill is on Tuesday 10/30. I've declared September 14, 2007 my re-birthday. I'm going to Celebrate it every year. I can't wait to watch as the new me emerges.</p> TickerFactory.com <a href="Weight Loss - Diet Ticker"> <img border="0" src="<A href="http://tickers.TickerFactory.com/ezt/t/wGBlODJ/weight.png"></a">http://tickers.TickerFactory.com/ezt/t/wGBlODJ/weight.png"></a>
TheGh0st 9 Posted October 23, 2007 Congratulations. My date was Sep 13th, 2005. I like the term re-birthday. I've been calling it my "bandversary", but I like your phrase re-birthday. I still haven't convinced the family that it's worthy of getting me a card or present but I've tried.
Gigee 0 Posted October 24, 2007 I like the term "bandversary". If your family won't buy you a gift on your re-birthday, buy one for yourself. I think it's worth celebrating. This lapband is my first step at doing something for me. I've put the kids, husband and house first for too long. This is me doing something important for me. I got a new attitude! Congrats on your weight loss. Keep up the good work. :clap2:
TheGh0st 9 Posted October 25, 2007 Thanks, I did actually. For my 2nd bandversary I gave myself an "early present. In August I signed up for an annual membership to a chain called "Massage Envy" The $49 monthly fee gives you 1 1-hr massage with additional massages at $39. I had only ever had one massage in my life prior to the band and now I am practically addicted. I think I've had at least 5 massages in the 8 weeks running up to my PS, and I am absolutely itching to get back for another one. Ofcourse I haven't mentioned this to the DH yet. He thinks I've been out walking with friends on the nights I was getting a massage. Shame, Shame on me. But oh how worth it.
Gigee 0 Posted October 25, 2007 Good for you! I never had a massage. I'll have to put that on my list of things to do for myself. How did you get the tickertape attached to your thread?
TheGh0st 9 Posted October 26, 2007 There is a website TickerFactory.com that has a bunch of tickers to choose from. Once you've made the ticker it gives you several strings of code to choose from for copying and pasting into signature line on Lapbandtalk. BUT!!! to be honest I've never figured out how to make that work myself. Instead I just highlight the picture of the ticker I made that they have at the top right click on my mouse and hit copy then paste that picture directly into my signature line on Lapbandtalk.com's User CP screen. Oh and one other tip for some reason it won't let me highlight the picture unless I start on the end of the line above it. If I click just to the left of the ticker it acts like I'm not allowed to highlight it. Go figure. Of course if you figure out the "right" way to do it feel free to let me know. Gigee 0 Posted October 26, 2007 Thanks for the help with the tickertape. I'm not sure if I got right or not.
Gigee 0 Posted October 26, 2007 I guess I did it right. I copies the tickertape and pasted in the UserCP. Thanks again for your help.
TheGh0st 9 Posted October 26, 2007 Perfect Ticker! I can't believe how fantastic you are doing already. Keep up the great work! You know its strange there are people out there like Jachut & JulieNYC that are my heroes and I look to them as what I can only dream of being someday, it still feels lightyears away most days. But I also look towards bandsters like yourself for motivation. Your energy and enthusiasm (spell?) for this journey you have just begun is addictive and helps me when I feel like dragging my feet on this last leg of my own journey. I look forward to seeing you around and watching your future successes.
