Having hard time sleeping

Recommended Posts

I had my surgery last Thursday, everything has been going really smooth, I feel like I am ready to eat foods but sticking with liquid diet. Wednesday around 6pm, I nibbled at a tiny pecan, I spit it all out and washed out my mouth. Now I can't sleep, I feel like my stomach is tight and it keeps rumbling, did I just mess my stomach up?

Nope. You didn't hurt anything. Next time you want to try foods, stick with the next foods on your list. Try a little oatmeal or yogurt....leave the pecans for a while down the road:)

I'm two and a half weeks out. Last night, I ate snowcrab and boiled potatoes from a crab boil. (I didn't eat the sausage or corn on the cob, but the flavors were there). Had about 4 ounces and was stuffed. The tummy had no problems accepting it.

food is coming back, I promise. But again...start with your soft/pureed foods and see what your tolerance is.

PS....I was making peanut brittle this weekend with my hubby. I ate a tiny piece and didn't die:)

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
