We have an old fashioned bath that is narrower in the middle. I used to have to "lift" my hips over the middle bit to lay down in the bath, now, I just slide straight through the middle!

this needs to move back to the top for all to see and take heart from. NSV are important and each is personal and important to our mental health

so i will share a small NSV this morning.

Out of habit i sit here with my feet elevated as i have for years cause i need to keep the swelling down in my feet only as i look at my feet i realize i haven't need to do this for a while and i am doing it now out of pure habit.

I have lost 2 shoes sizes in the last 10 months and the bones in my feet show now that the fat is mostly gone.

The left foot is still larger than the right but it most likely will always be due to circulation issues that don't have anything to do with my WLS. So i sit here looking at my own feet and smiling cause i can see them sitting and just as importantly when i stand up.

Wow what a NSV! This one I'm looking forward to. I have lost weight in my face, forearms, wrists and an almost loss of body inches. I rationalize that since I am still presurgical there is hope for me yet. But as I have lymphedema the word "swelling" resonates with me. Keep me updated as more NSV occur for you.😛

I fit into jean I haven’t worn in over two and a half years and some of them now fit too big. I am an avid Disneyland goer and I can last longer at the parks and get in and out of the rides super easy. I went down a shoe size. I can run 50 mins on the elliptical. Save money whenever we go out to eat.

5 weeks out and my scrubs are hanging off of me, my coworkers even brought up great places to take them in.

Walking past pizza, donuts, etc and not craving them at all. Instead choosing healthy Protein instead bc I'm craving it.

People saying my face is slimmer.

Went down a pant size.

Almost able to cross my legs comfortably.

This is only in 5 weeks, I can't wait to see what else is in store for me!!!!

I fit comfortably on the shuttle bus seat now! I have to shuttle from our work parking lot to work and don’t like touching thighs with the person next to me...and now I don’t! :D

Me too! Yay!

I have a pair of shoes I could never wear because they would pinch my toes when I took a step, now I can wear them just fine. How weird!

I LOVE this topic! Read every one and cheering for everybody! For me, I literally walked out of a pair of jeans. My heel caught on the hem and they came right down off me. Down a size already! And I'm having a surge of energy in spite of having zero caffeine (I was addicted to Diet Coke pre-surgery.) Got up at 5:30 this morning and cooked eggs for me and hubby (he was shocked, LOL) then took the dogs on a mile-long walk.

Can't wait to see what NSVs the next weeks and months bring.

Got a couple more today. Had to go to a walk in clinic today got a skin infection thing... they didn’t have to go searching for the bigger BP cuff and just used the “normal one”. Doc even said after reviewing my vitals what not that I’m “really healthy”. I’m choosing to take that as positive and not a backhanded compliment.

Best NSV was the Mr giving me a big hug and saying he could reach around me more and this was now his favorite way to measure my progress.

Congrats on everyone for notifying NSV even if not posting.

I just realized no longer have to worry about accidentally collapsing my ladder under my weight. I bought it without knowing the weight limit until I got it home and was taking the risks every time I used it.

I never thought about that!! I have two that I’ve always been cautious with. I’m well below the limits now [emoji16]

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
