Had surgery on 3/7/18 and was a size 20. Two weeks ago, I went to buy a dress to wear for Mother's Day and was a size 16....I was crying in the dressing room! Yesterday, I put the dress on and it was already too big. Ran back to the store and exchanged it for a 14! Best Mother's Day ever! LOL

Your cheery NSV came at a good time, I was having a PLOM morming, counting up my ready cash, if I pay the majority of bills and utilities, I'll need to call my landlord and tell him I can't pay my rent in one lump, I'll have to space it out. Rough when you can't pay perfectly for shelter and yet can't afford to move. Not between. a rock, and a hard place quite yet,but feel like I'm slipping into the crack quickly. Don't have someone from the older generation to talk to about it, when I had my back turned, I suddenly became the older generation.
So hearing of the sweet small victories you're having somehow encourages me to stay the course. Just enough milk for 1 bowl of Cereal so I'll let my son have that and I ate a bowl of leftover Soup. I'll go to the supermarket and stock,up on what I'm low on.And maybe the PLOM cloud will dissipate. PS PLOM stands for Poor Little Old Me, guess even I get those kind of blues. 😭

I'm soon to be in the same boat. Totally unsupportive alcoholic husband that doesn't want to change is on his way out the door. I don't know how I'm going to make it with one fixed income but I'll soon find out.
FYI it's okay to feel sorry for yourself once in a while. This is a rough journey nevermind the journey + life woes. Best of luck to you [emoji106]

I went camping this weekend and took my favorite hat with me. It's a fitted Cubs hat. I hadn't worn it since last year. It's about three sizes too big. It's like being a kid and wearing your dad's hat.

I did a major email mailbox cleanup the other day. I rather enjoyed unsubscribing to lots of places I've needed to buy plus size clothing from in the past (since in store plus size options are so limited). Locally places like Millers and City Chic, and a few overseas companies too.

I also visited the REGULAR womens clothing section of a Target store the other day! And I actually felt a bit lost / overwhelmed by how much stuff there was too look at / consider LOL. My size 26 fleecy jacket and size 24-26 shirts were just getting too baggy for me.. now I have some size 18 shirts and a size 20 fleecy jacket! We are just about to start winter here so hopefully these will take me a fair way through it. I have a huge (and still growing) pile of size 22-26 clothing I need to sort and sell/donate shortly.

I just realized no longer have to worry about accidentally collapsing my ladder under my weight. I bought it without knowing the weight limit until I got it home and was taking the risks every time I used it.

I fit comfortably on the shuttle bus seat now! I have to shuttle from our work parking lot to work and don’t like touching thighs with the person next to me...and now I don’t! :D

I crossed my legs the other day without thinking! Haven’t been able to do that for years.

Sometimes NSV are the best victories! I've had quite a few in the last year but here are some:

I can fit comfortably in the chairs in our conference room at work, the arms used to dig into my legs and hips so bad.

I can shop in straight size stores only now, no more bouncing between plus and straight

I need new wedding rings, my fingers have gone down so much I can't even have my rings resized!! Yay new wedding set!!

Calf boots, I can wear them all. I also went down a shoe size so I need all new shoes on top of a new wardrobe.

I can see my feet again when I look down instead of just my belly, also my boobs are bigger than my belly again, thank god.

I can do 40-60 minutes on the Elliptical and not need a break. The first time I got on I couldn't even do 5 minutes.

I'm smaller than my husband for the first time ever.

I can cross my legs comfortably and love doing it.

🙌🏼 all of this!

I'm about two weeks post op, total weight lost so far about 35 pounds (28 lost pre surgery).

I can fit in the chairs in the waiting room at my doc's office a little better.

I fit in the seats of my car better.

I'm wearing clothing I haven't worn in years (yes, it was still in my closet).

Parts of my body are getting a little squishier, not so painfully tight with fat.

My face looks thinner.

Some of the “painful tightness” might have been Water retention...I experience this on a daily and it subsides occasionally to the point of a 10 lb loss...and yay for all of it!

Four and a half months out from surgery... This morning, I noticed something weird above my thigh getting out of the shower. Kind of a lump, it looked like.

I was worried for a minute then I noticed it was on the other side, too. It was my hip bone. It has never been visible before in my entire adult life.

THE BEST!

I was sitting in the auditorium at the high school last night and needed to fill out some paperwork. My daughter says.."Mom, there's a desk attached to the chair." She proceeds to start pulling it out. I was never able to use the desk like that because of my weight. Last night it was able to be used and it didn't touch me anywhere! I was sooooo excited.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
