Second Fill, And No Restriction!!

Recommended Posts

I'm trying hard not to get fustrated, but I really really really feel sad. I know "just be patient" "it takes time " "it will come off" My question is when???? I have been banded since 9/5 and I have been hungry since two weeks after that. I also have put on about 6lbs since that. What is wrong with me ?? I'm eating all the right foods. I'm following my dr. orders to eat until I'm full and I am so embarassed that I have not lost weight and other people notice it too. Espeacially the peple that know I had this surgery!! What do I do??:help:

RedGirl,

I am sorry that you are going through this. Do you exercise?

You said that you are eating all the right foods, but have you tried not eating until you are full. Maybe you should try eating until you are content (there is a small difference). Ask your doc if that would be ok. Hopefully this or something else will work for you.

Good Luck.

RedGril,

I right there with you. I was banded on 7/25/07 and just had fill #2. Still no magic feeling of fullness. Mine is Willpower. Not gaining. But losing ever so slow. Hang in there.

The dr. is the one that told me to eat until i'm full. But at first i was eating lean quizine and he told me not to eat that, to eat regular foods until i'm full. I did that and gained 5lbs. But if i don't gain any weight he thinks everything is good. But its not because of the band. It's because I walk, walk, walk. I'm thinking about joining weight watchers.

Redgirl- Maybe try eating only 1/2 c at a time-then wait-even an hour-if you are hungry try again- in weeks 3-6 for me I was starving and I know I was eating more than a cup per meal- I ended up staying the same weight during those three weeks-after my fill I have lost 4 lbs and it has not yet been a week- i have been staying at 1/2 c per meal and then Protein drinks and pudding for snacks- I am not full at all times but am slowly training myself to stop eating. That way when sweet spot hits I will be ready. I also have noticed full is not what it used to be-it is basically the feeling of not being hungry.I know you are frustrated-it sucks..

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
