MissDixie 1 Posted December 18, 2017 I am currently using Unjury Protein Powder and it does taste good, but it's $26 a tub that will only last me 5-7 days. Has anyone found a good cheaper option for Protein? I have to do three shakes a day while I'm on full liquids but I think I will be able to cut back to 2 once I get to pureed foods. James Marusek 5,244 Posted December 19, 2017 I used Muscle Milk Light (Vanilla Creme) Protein Shake powder blended with Water and a half a banana. I would buy it over the internet on Amazon to minimize costs. 2 Rainbow_Warrior and MissDixie reacted to this
catwoman7 11,220 Posted December 19, 2017 100% whey Protein isolate tends to be really expensive regardless of the manufacturer. I like Unjury, and I also like Syntrax Nectar products, which are also pricey. Protein blends are cheaper, but we were told to stick with 100% whey isolate the first few weeks or months because it's the most easily absorbed type of protein, and early on you're getting most of your protein from shakes. Later on you can switch to blends or dump the shakes altogether. So yes - they're expensive, but also, you're eating a lot less food, so it's kind of a wash. And you won't be drinking shakes forever, either... 1 MissDixie reacted to this
