I’m debating whether to purchase a scale or not. I haven’t had one for years. I always judged my size by how my clothes fit. I am two weeks out of surgery, had mine Dec 5, the day after my birthday. I am feeling great, tire quickly. Does everyone own a scale and should I get one?

I recently bought a new scale that I really like - syncs up with fitbit, etc. It's nice to be able to see not just my current weight, but how it's trending over time. It has a lot of the same functionality of the Fitbit scale but at less than half the price.

I like having a scale to track whether I'm on the right path and the choices I make are giving me the results I want. If you feel that having a scale would cause you stress or make things difficult, I'd suggest seeing if someone you know has a scale you can use once a week just so you have an idea of how you are doing.

No scale for me

I use them when available like at a friends house or doctors appointment which is not often

I hold myself accountable by tracking everything I consume. Bonus I never know about my stalls

scale. I weigh myself every day in the morning because I don’t want to be surprised. Also, if I gain three pounds, I need the motivation to get my ass to the gym and work hard.

I don't own a scale. Only weighed myself at the doctors office in the beginning. Stepped on the scale at work once a month or so for the first couple years postop. But I can easily tell by how my jeans fit if I'm losing or gaining. I'm 4 years postop and I maybe weighed myself 3-4 times in the past year.

I vote scale. Don't need to weigh frequently, but weight loss can creep back quickly. At the advice of my surgeon: If you weigh weekly, you'll never miss a 5 lb. weight gain and can adjust in the moment and not have to dig out of a hole.

Personally, I need the scale for accountability. As soon as I see my weight trending up I know to immediately adjust.

No scale for me. I have teenage daughters and feel like it’s a bad idea. I work in a doctors office, so I just weigh myself at work whenever I get the urge.

But you still weigh regularly:) that's key!

I didn't weigh myself much in the beginning after surgery because i knew the surgery bloat would kill my confidence. I bought a scale a couple of months after. I weigh almost every day but i only track once a week. It helps because i can fix my gluttonous mistakes before they get out of hand lol.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
