Creekimp13 5,840 Posted December 17, 2017 (edited) Love this guide. Planning to replace as much animal Protein as possible with plant Protein. Have been studying the diets of people with the longest lifespans in the world. Lot of healthy fats, low animal protein, lots of complex carbs and plant protein. Low cancer and heart disease rates. If you're looking for some new and exciting protein options...check this list out...has recipes, too:) https://theecoguide.org/vegetarian-proteins?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIjMm5i6yR2AIVXbbACh3zhwDbEAAYAiAAEgLMSfD_BwE Edited December 17, 2017 by Creekimp13 1 GreenTealael reacted to this
Mhy12784 423 Posted December 17, 2017 Not to be negative or anything but that website is extremely biased trying to push an agenda. Listing popcorn as a Protein that's as good as meat? Far as I'm concerned that gives that website 0 credibility
Creekimp13 5,840 Posted December 17, 2017 (edited) yes, it's from a vegetarian site, but that's hardly the point. The point was that lots of awesome plant based Proteins exist that might provide a little variety and culinary splendor to an otherwise repetitive animal based palate. Meh, to each their own. Personally, I'm attracted to the longevity and health benefits associated with Mediterranean diet and other low animal Protein, low animal fat diets. Not for everyone for sure...but plant based protein sources make a nice culinary change even for meat eaters. I'm pretty omnivorous. I like a little lean meat in my diet, too. Want to put your chia seeds and flax on a nice steak? Add some nuts and pumpkin seeds to your chicken salad? You have my blessing. LOL:) Edited December 17, 2017 by Creekimp13 1 GreenTealael reacted to this
Creekimp13 5,840 Posted December 17, 2017 By the way, 3 cups of air popped pop corn has three grams of Protein for only 30 calories. That's damned good. I doubt I'm gonna be eating 3 cups of popcorn anytime soon....but this list wasn't exactly made for sleevers. For general nutrition, it's an awesome snack. 1 GreenTealael reacted to this

Creekimp13 5,840 Posted December 17, 2017 My nutritionist has an entire alternate plan for vegetarian sleevers. Balanced and complete. I'm not a vegetarian, but she is, and she was thrilled that I wanted a copy of that strategy, too. I go a little from each list...I like balance:) Can't wait to have my chia pudding back. Just saw a cool recipe for chia seed pumpkin oats packed with Protein. Looks like an awesome Breakfast and I can't wait to try it. 1 GreenTealael reacted to this
