MissSimpson 81 Posted January 8, 2018 These posts worry me a little. I’m 8 days out and I can gulp Water, feel little restriction and there hasn’t been a single food that has caused me any problems. The only effect from the surgery that I feel is lack of hunger. This may sound great to you if you are having difficulties, but I wonder if this surgery may not work for me. Is that possible? I have not eaten much and have been pretty good on my diet, so I’m good so far, but...Don’t stress too much. Everybody is different.
Mitzy69 13 Posted January 8, 2018 How's everyone feeling? I can't take the heartburn it's killing me. I don't see the doctor again till May! I wonder why so long before he sees me? I thought we had to go monthly. Calling my regular doctor today maybe he can monitor me better.
KSitjar 3 Posted January 8, 2018 Hey guys, just found this app. I got my sleeve done on 12/22. Only issue I'm experiencing at the moment (week 3), is soreness in my abdomen where they pulled the partial stomach from.Still wearing my belly binder, but it only helps a little. Eating my Proteins now and finally got my liquid intake to over 80oz. I try to eat every 2-3 hours but it's difficult, it's really dependent on what I'm consuming.Otherwise, once this soreness goes away, I'll be hitting the gym to regain the muscle mass I've lost. 1 optimistic74 reacted to this

KSitjar 3 Posted January 8, 2018 Has anyone had their follow up appointment? Mine is next week and the Nurse Practioner mentioned that they would do a barium swallow to check for leaks or other issues. Has anyone had to do this yet?I had my 2-week follow-up on 1/4, and I didn't have to do any leak checks. Doc just looked at my incisions and said I was doing well. Had lost about 30lbs since surgery and I'm due back in a month for another check-up. 1 karamelmami reacted to this
KSitjar 3 Posted January 8, 2018 What's a belly binder ? Elastic fabric with Velcro to keep the abdomen together. It helps me restrict the movement of my belly when I walk. Hospital put it on me during recovery. 1 optimistic74 reacted to this

No barium swallow, but I don't think they had reason to think that was an issue. Doc ripped off the remaining steri-strips (of 5 they initially put on, 3 hadn't fallen off yet) and said the incisions looked good and that I should come back in a month. OscarsMom 9 Posted January 8, 2018 Sleeved on 12/29 - first day back to work today. Being in the office is very different than being home - my mind is totally occupied with food and I feel hungry here (was not really the case at home...possibly I'm not drinking enough liquids? ). Doing great except I sometimes get an intense gripping pain when something hits my stomach after swallowing, especially anything not really a liquid (like Jello or yogurt). 2 tablespoons of ff plain greek yogurt also caused terrible diarrhea last night. Supposed to transition to try eggs and other soft solids later this week, yikes - I'm terrified of my stomach's reaction!

I’m thinking it’s the milk part and I might have to get a plant based Protein powder. Anybody else have problems with the whey Protein? I have the plant based protein it is fruit flavored and it has been going pretty well. I am 3 days behind on having it but I have been drinking my fluids. Today I had some tuna, for dinner I could only get through half the 3 spoonfuls of the 6 oz. package. I made sure it was very moist as suggested. For lunch I had creamy potato Soup. My stomach is getting a little better but honestly I thought the tuna might revisit me. I felt so full to the top of my esophagus.

Anyway, I know what anxiety feels like so I can understand how you feel. Relax. This seems like a great move and safe operation with a couple months of discomfort for a lifetime of skinny living. I’m excited. Are you too? I totally relate to this. I have worked so hard to get to a place where I feel happy and stable. I wanted to have this operation for health and self esteem; but was concerned I would jeopardise my current state. So far, so good! How are you doing with it all? My operation was the 19th of December 2017.

abefroman329 704 Posted January 9, 2018 Fortunately mine only makes noises at night. The surgeon said it's temporary, though.
