Livingmybestlife 19 Posted January 5, 2018 I have about a 3 to 4 for pain. My incisions look good. I am doing ok for hydration but getting the Protein in is still a work in progress. Thanks for the reminder of the Miso Soup I love that & will grab some soon. Now for confession time...I had a frozen wonton bowl last night and every intemotion of just having the broth but the wontons we boiled down so soft that they fell apart. So I figured what would be the harm really. Well when I tell you the few slivers of it i had came back with a vengeance! People I now know that Dumping syndrome is real and better you not do it to yourself. A hard head makes a soft behind as my Gram used to say so going forward I will be listening loud and clear. :-) 1 MissSimpson reacted to this

It’s not going down well - feels like a punch in the stomach! 😕 Girl, you're lucky! I only get to start full liquids for the next 2 weeks, then 2 weeks of pureed, then regular 1 MissSimpson reacted to this
Capndemdem 22 Posted January 5, 2018 My surgeon said 4 weeks full fluids and 2 weeks pureed. 2 weeks of fluids to goSent from my SM-G920W8 using BariatricPal mobile app
Livingmybestlife 19 Posted January 5, 2018 I am still doing liquids too until the 22nd then my plan says I can move to soft if released by the surgeon. I was just trying to beat the system but all I did was beat myself into that horrible side effect. That was a valuable lesson I didn't need to learn since they already told me ahead of time. :-( just disobedient. All that glitters isn't gold. 1 MissSimpson reacted to this

It was disappointing. I puked up a string cheese yesterday. Idk if I didn’t chew it enough, or what. They have been going down alright. I’m sticking the super puréed food today. I had a Protein Shake for Breakfast and soupy mashed potatoes for lunch. I’m making it - slowly, though! 1 Brittanyblue reacted to this

Jbrava24 8 Posted January 5, 2018 (edited) I’ll be two weeks Tuesday and my nutritionist says I can start purée then. I’m, so tired of not real food, I find myself not eating at all, instead of the yogurt or shake. Also I’ve been drinking this Protein Water and I think it gives me gas. Anybody else? Livingmybestlife 19 Posted January 5, 2018 Good for you don't feel guilty. If you can do it. That would certainly be my advice for anyone in our situation. I am going to start resistance training next week. Nothing major just with the bands for legs and arms. I am walking every day 15 to 30 minutes and thats not a lot but it's a start. More time is good to get to know yourself good luck with the time off. 2 MissSimpson and Nubbinsd22 reacted to this
MissSimpson 81 Posted January 5, 2018 When should I expect to start seeing some real weight loss? I'm down 15 lbs. total, but that's including what I lost before surgery on liquid diet. I KNOW I'm not supposed to weigh until 2 weeks out, and I'm 8 days, but I couldn't help myself. The scale is staring at me every time I go into the bathroom! Hahah! Protien Water makes me burp a lot! And I'm getting sick of the tropical punch flavor. Gag! I do good wanting a shake for breakfast. It goes down pretty well. It's the rest of the day that is full of suprises!

The scale is staring at me every time I go into the bathroom! Hahah! I've done the same thing, i'm 8 days out and have lost 12 lbs since surgery. And 22lbs since the pre-op diet. I think it's because of my surgeons rules though...literally the first week I was only allowed Water, Gatorade/Powerade, Jello and had to have one Protein Shake a day, that was it. I think thats why I lost so much the first week. I had my 1 week post op appointment today and she did say I was on the higher end of patients first week loss, she said its normal to be at about 6 - 8 lbs lost the first week. I've been weighing myself daily since I got home from the hospital (12/21) and I'm down almost 25 lbs so far. edit: My weight loss sped up once I started the full liquid diet, but now it's slowed to about half a pound a day.
