Elizabeth21 176 Posted June 28, 2018 (edited) Nature girl, First of all: BREATHE!!! Keep your perspective. The more you panic the worse it will be. First of all you are not starting over. Okay, you have a few more pounds than you want, but you are still better off. Second, review the differences in your life before and after surgery. Note how much life is better post surgery! Then, make choices to keep it that way. It does not have to be extreme. Just be honest with yourself. What are you really eating/drinking? You only need to get 50-60 grams of Protein. Go back to basics and create a routine like you did just after surgery. Avoid the sugar, avoid calorie drinks. Start walking five minutes a day, and increase it by five minutes at a time over a week or two until its about 30 minutes a day. Sign up for a strength training class to add some muscle to burn more calories while resting. It will not take much. Do not make it a big deal because that can lead to spiralling. Also, accept that you may not have perfection. SO WHAT?? 25 lbs. vs. 125 lbs.?? Big difference in quality of life. You're okay. Breathe!!! *hugs* Liz Edited June 28, 2018 by Elizabeth21
Debbieduck4 399 Posted June 28, 2018 Thanks everyone for all your responses! So great to still have a place to come to for support... I did the pouch reset last week and thought I'd share my results. I lost 2 pounds and gained them right back in 2 days.. LOL! But what I did learn is that I really have not been eating properly this past year. When I literally removed everything from my diet and started at the beginning, I was quickly reminded how eating 3 good meals with a solid piece of Protein (chicken breast, fish, etc) and some yummy veggies fills me up to the top easily, keeps me from being hungry, and I felt so much better.. more energy! Trying now to not go back to have slider foods or snacking. I am a crisis responder and work 3-12's so my meals had gone to the wayside. Just grab and go something every few hours while running from case to case. That carried over to my home life also. Not going back to that again!! 2 Clementine Sky and Elizabeth21 reacted to this
