LakeishaNicole 42 Posted December 13, 2017 I just left my last monitored visit for my surgery. It has been a LONG 6 months. I was told that my doctor would send my recommendation letter in and everything will be sent to the insurance company. I hope to at least have a surgery date soon. I’m nervous that due to the holidays that I won’t get an approval from the insurance. Anyone else in this position? I AM SO EXCITED
Confident&Sassy_RNY 6 Posted December 14, 2017 Congratulations!! You’ve jumped the first hurdle. Don’t be afraid to call your insurance and ask for the status of your case file in a week or so. Did they give you an estimated timeframe?HW 391.6 SW 347.6 (-44lbs) 11-29-17 CW 329 GW 190 1 LakeishaNicole reacted to this
ewilliams4491 76 Posted December 14, 2017 I was nervous too. My paperwork was submitted to insurance on December 1st. Got my approval on December 7th and today, December 14th, is my surgery day. I’m with UHC Oxford and the process was quick. I called and checked on the status every other day until I heard approved lol. Good luck 1 LakeishaNicole reacted to this
LakeishaNicole 42 Posted December 14, 2017 Thanks for the encouragement. They never gave me an estimated time frame. My biggest issue is getting the hospital to respond to my emails letting me know that they have received everything. I would love to meet with the surgeon to get a date because I know he will be out for the holidays. I'm sure it will be in January but I need an exact date to tell my job. Being that I am an accountant, the beginning of the year can be very hectic. I want to make sure I am not over doing it. BTW, Good Luck on your surgery this morning. I pray you have a smooth recovery.
