Debbie9966 36 Posted December 13, 2017 I had my surgery on Monday and was discharged on Tuesday. I weighed myself this morning and am 5 pounds heavier than my was the morning of surgery. Is this typical? I am thinking it may be from having all of those IV fluids while in the hospital because I haven’t been eating a whole lot. Yesterday in the hospital they had me “eat” 1 oz of broth, 1 oz of apple juice and 2 oz of sugar free frozen lemon ice. When I got home last night I had 3 oz of broth and Water later. Is it typical for your body to hold these calories because it thinks it is in starvation mode?
GoddessMoon 108 Posted December 13, 2017 It is due to the fluids in the hospital. It happens..but you will lose it.
Berry78 4,261 Posted December 13, 2017 Yes, it is fluids from the hospital. You need to really push to be getting in your 64oz fluids each day. Congrats on your surgery, and welcome to the losers' bench! 2 Sosewsue61 and GoddessMoon reacted to this
