My official opinion on the Protein chips is that they require a dip of some sort. Of course when I enjoyed them with a little whipped cream cheese they were considerably more tasty lol. Another poster suggested fresh salsa that sounds like a winner as well.

I'm personally not a fan of the Protein chips, I'm not a fan of the taste at all. I would rather eat cheese or some beef Jerky personally.

Yes, it's all a compromise. :) I like having the crispy chippy experience and am willing to deal with the dryness thing so that I don't feel guilty or gain. Plus, it's very easy for me to have 1/2 a bag with a lc wrap and know I haven't whacked my day or anything. :D I feel very virtuous and superior. *snort*

Thank you for all of your follow up comments! I've been wanting to try these. I may still, but will be prepared that some sort of salsa or dip is required. My weakness has always been chips, salt, ect. I was hoping post-op that these would satisfy some of my cravings and also be a great way to get some Protein in. Like Fluffy said, crispy chippy!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
