AskingForAFriend 25 Posted December 13, 2017 Yep jaminator....you're my spirit animal! Talking to you makes me feel as though I'm going to be alright. Not looking forward to the post-op liquid diet or blended died or soft diet but it's necessary. My BMI was 35 when I got approved but now it's 33 and I still want the surgery because I have health issues that have crept up like high blood pressure and sleep apnea. I want to live a long and healthy life...I think that our weight loss will be similar....I'm kind of hyped now. My surgery is Monday and I just got insurance approval on Sunday last week. Now I have to run out and buy everything because I didn't think I should buy all of that stuff if I wasn't going to get approved yunno? Now I have to focus really hard and mentally prepare to become AWESOME!
jaminator 262 Posted December 13, 2017 yeah the 4 weeks post op are going to suck bad. Not gonna lie. But once you get to the point where you can take in a lot of Water and get past that wretched liquid and puree stage you should be golden. My BP was 125/80 last check up. No more snoring either. The first time i ate rotisserie chicken I was almost aroused since i was eating actual food.
AskingForAFriend 25 Posted December 13, 2017 You know i'm sitting here hollering right? You have a similar sense of humor to mine....I know the beginning is going to be terrible and I know I will probably get depressed. I mean the fact that my family is downstairs right now eating spaghetti and I'm sitting here drinking this chalky Premier Protein for dinner already sucks but you have to start somewhere. I just have to tough out the initial stages and then reap the benefits moving forward. 1 SewAmbitious reacted to this
jaminator 262 Posted December 13, 2017 Thats why i went straight to Protein powders like sprouts brand chocolate, VEGA, or Orgain mixed with skim and coffee. THos bottled up ones are disgusting. too friggin sweet. the ones i mentioned are very smooth when blended. They gave me an ensure in the hospital and i was wondering how effin old you would have to be to not notice how gross that thing was.
AskingForAFriend 25 Posted December 13, 2017 I've heard of Orgain, do you get that at GMC? Yeah, I might have to try that because the pre-made shakes are pretty damn nasty. Did your taste buds change after surgery, or you just couldn't eat much?
jaminator 262 Posted December 13, 2017 got a huge bucket at costco but they might have elsewhere. Sprouts markets Protein Powder is good and cheap. Blend it up with some skim milk and crushed ice for a whopping 20 grams Protein. I still like the same stuff. White meat chicken is the only thing that’s hard for me to deal with. Too dry and chewy. Thinking about postponing until I’m more mentally prepared. Thoughts? You need to contact your Surgeons office. The pre op diet is to shrink your liver so it is easier for him during surgery. If you are not ready mentally then you may want to wait until you get your mind right. The surgery is a whole lifestyle change. 1 EagerPenguin reacted to this
