Meet with each one and get patient referrals. You would only want to go abroad if you wanted a really experienced surgeon and to save money. The docs around here have way less experience than my surgeon I chose in Mexico. But docs here in the US are just as good, they've been trained, too. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
hatmama 0 Posted October 23, 2007 Hi! I researched in FL and VA (I have family in FL and visit there a lot, but live in NOVA right now), then researched some of the doctors in Mexico. I was self-pay also. I chose Ready4Achange in Monterrey not just because of the price (WAY cheaper!) but because of the experience the dr had. I had excellent care in a super hospital and the hotel was nice with wonderful people. You just need to read up on all the drs qualifications before you decide.
