Yes, totally normal. It took me a full week before I was able get in/hold down the correct amount of liquids. Remember you are adjusting to your new stomach, and its ok of you can't do it all today, try again tomorrow, and keep trying until you succeed. You got this!

Hi Sweetie!! Oh yes this is normal, absolutely normal! I had multiple meltdowns. lol! I cried so many times I was pretty sure I might dehydrate. lol!

I called my surgeon's office so many times I was sure they would kick me out, lol! I was so scared of everything, of drinking too much, of drinking too little, of getting the hiccups, of getting constipated, I called them on everything, I cried several times while talking to the coordinator. I cried at work. lol!

The first 6 months are full of tears for some of us. And then there are others who the whole thing is a breeze. *shrugs shoulders* I wasn't that lucky. lol!

You are only 6 days in, your tummy is like a newborn baby right now, so tears are totally normal.

It took me WEEKS to hit my goals. My doctor's office said just just keep sipping, Sipping sipping sipping. And then walking, slowly walking to work the air out that they blew into your system to do the surgery. The liquid and pureed stages are really rough, so tears are totally normal. Once you get past these stages things get a little easier!!

Could be due to healing, your blood is focused on your midsection, could be due to not moving around as much, etc. Try to get up and walk every hour to keep the blood flowing. Other than that I'd try to make sure I either turn on a heating blanket or toss socks and mittens into the dryer and put them on nice and toasty warm.

It could also have nothing to do with your surgery. Just try to deal with the symptoms, note anything you think could be a contributing factor and then if it's super annoying or becomes a bigger issue you have some data points to discuss with your doc.

The first couple of days at home I was only able to drink 24 to 28 oz of Water and they were not happy with me. I was also eating yogurt and Protein Shake but they were concerned about blood clots and told me to skip yogurt to get more fluids. It’s so tough bc if you wake up a little late or take a nap you are derailed for the day. How much are you getting? It helped me to lay out a schedule for the day to make sure I could meet my 48 oz goal. The other thing that helped was having a small water bottle (8oz) in bed with me when I woke up in the middle of the night. I couldn’t sleep through the night for the first week so drinking for an hour in the middle of the night helped me reach my goal.

Oh my gosh yes! Emotions can go crazy right now! I've been anywhere from irritable to elated to sobbing on the couch. This is such a stressful time, it's bound to happen. I think some of the meds given during surgery can also have an effect on your mood.

I number my Water bottles for the day. I helps me keep track of my intake and is a good reminder. Also eat sugar free popsicles, my NUT said these count toward your Fluid intake. Good luck.

My surgeon said in one of his presentations that at least once a week or so someone bursts into tears after surgery and says they've done a horrible thing and they regret it. He says these same folks usually do just fine and within a few months they're happy with their choice.....but YES, it's an emotional time:) Don't feel bad if you find yourself double and triple guessing yourself and wondering if you did the right thing....it's very very common.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
