Ok ladies,

A girdle or Shapewear will smooth and tuck the loose skin for clothing to fit better. Age and how long you have been overweight will be factors on what your loose skin is going to look like. Plastics is the only way to get rid of it.

We are talking a 75 pound to a 100 pound weight loss. If you are concerned about sag now...You are going to be surprised after your loss. A few photos of what it might look like for you.

Unfortunately I'm already pretty saggy in the stomach 60lbs down. Would hate to see what I look like at 100lb loss.

It all depends on your age, weight and how long you were overweight. Your loose skin is an unknown outcome of surgery. You can have two people the same weight and height and the loose skin looks totally different.

Oh totally but that second guys skin is extremely bad (and is relatively young) I think it looks like much more than 100 pounds of weight loss

I was just looking into ways to avoid skin sagging, genetics, age, how long you've been overweight does play a factor. What u can do as u lose weight, get a body brush to brush your skin, it increases circulation & skin renewal. purchase a colagen cream & massage needed areas: stomach, legs arms etc. hope this helps. I am 10 days post op & anything tight on my stomach still hurts. when u are comfortable put the shapeware on. I figured, I would give myself another month but in the meantime I cam start with the above

I don't believe this will make any difference at all whatsoever.

Nor would anything in the post below.

Honestly most of your options is putting on muscle after (which is extremely limited in its usefulness), surgical/laser based, and just staying healthy and hydrated.

Most articles on treatment/prevention options expose them as gimmicks designed to steal your money.

From what I read, there is not much you can do. I had really good luck using cocoa butter when I was pregnant. I didn’t get a single stretch mark and my tummy bounced right back. I know weight loss like this is a completely different ball game, but I might try it just for the heck of it. Saying that, I’ve always had a small waist, even for being a chunky monkey, lol.

I am going to really focus on heavy lifting for the next few months before my surgery, and pack on as much muscle as I can. I know I will be out of the weight room for about a month, so I want to be as proactive as I can. Then, as soon as I can get back to it, heavy lifting will be my focus. The muscle helps a ton!

I wear an ab binder to help with pain. It holds my stomach tight so that when I sneeze, cough or laugh in public it doesn’t hurt as much. It allows me to sleep on my side and reduces my pain when getting up, sitting down or going for a walk. I love mine, I don’t have any expectations that it will help with sagging skin or anything though. I have no idea about shape wear, wish I could help more.

Have a great day!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
