I’m able to start eating puréed foods coming up in the next week or so. What did you guys eat at this stage? I’m over broth and cream of chicken Soup.

Sleeved a week after you, started introducing scrambled eggs with no problems this morning. Made sure I cooked them on the softer side with smaller curds. Added a little ketchup for extra moisture. Im thinking about trying some soft ground beef next week if I dont have any issues.

Havent really experimented much otherwise, the puree stage sounds kind of gross to me, and I have zero interest in blending meat/eggs.

Will mention I did use salt and pepper and (because someone on thanksgiving made the pepper mill really loose and i havent cooked since then) ended up putting more pepper on than I ever would for eggs. This gave me a veryyyyy minor amount of discomfort in my throat. Ill try again tomorrow, but I dont think peppers an issue for me but I would keep spices in moderation

Hi . This was my favorite stage. I puréed everything even Pasta . Along with a lot veggies and chicken in broth seasoned well so I can get some flavors.

My main pureed food is based on cooked (boiled) chicken breast (you can you canned for easy prep). Then I add different spices and liquids to create different meals

chicken + sauteed onion + taco seasoning = Tex-Mex night

chicken + red pepper + soy sauce = Japanese night

can do with tandoori spices, liquid smoke and BBQ rub, etc.

There’s a ricotta bake recipe on Pinterest for the purée stage. It’s good if you like Italian! Ricotta cheese, mozerella, Italian seasoning, marinara sauce, Parmesan. I searched “bariatric ricotta bake” on Pinterest and it came up. I’m also eating refried Beans and Mexican blend cheese. It’s pretty good.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
