weird pizza calorie question

Recommended Posts

hi guys

so i have been real serious about logging my food calories for the last 2 weeks and the scale is finaly moving down!

tonight i am in no mood for tuna or chicken so my hubby threw in a frozen connies pizza. i dont eat the crust - i take 2 slices (guess thats a quarter of it) and just eat the sause and cheese.

now sure if I should just take the hit for all the calories of a slice or not...

what do you guys think?

When I indulge on the toppings on DH's pizzas, I wonder the same thing.

For example dominoes website says the bacon cheeseburger pizza (what DH always gets) is like 350 calories (remembering off the top of my head, so could be off). I don't like pizza bacon, so I eat the cheese, hamburger meat, and sauce.. I always wonder how much of the calories is just the bread. And the problem with those nutritional calculators is things like this..

If I make a grilled cheese sandwhich at home I can estimate the calories at about 200 calories based on the ingredients I know I used. A grilled cheese sandwhich at Steak & shake is like 800 calories!! So then, there's a big discrepency between the 2 places...

The other night I made bell pepper pizza. It was so good and I didn't miss the crust. I cut a bell pepper in fours and put them in the microwave for about 30 secs. to soften them up. Then I spooned on some pizza sauce, some chopped up Boca sausage, and some cheese. Then I added 2 pepperonies on top. I put this in the oven on about 425 for a few minutes. It was so good. I wasn't sure it would work (I just thought of it out of pizza desperation) but it did and I am so glad to have a pizza alternative. With this you just count the calories/fat/protein listed on the packages.
