Hey all! I had my surgery November 15th. I started off at 254 before liquid pre op. To date I am 226. I am very happy I’m not dropping it too fast. I havent seen the 220’s in three years so I’m stoked. I tried to have a little smoked Gouda yesterday. No no no. My tummy did NOT like that. Nor does it like anything sweet. I am learning that I need to just stick to the plan. Lol. I am testing the waters I guess? And its just not happening. So my diet consists of cottage cheese, refried Beans, yogurt, and Protein Shakes. I am not having any issues getting my Water down. I am however very constipated. I mean BAD. Ive tried to add Miralax to my water, but its almost like I can tell its there and its hard to drink it. Any suggestions? Anywho just wanted to update everyone. Hope I’m not the only one......

Hi! I was sleeved the week after you! 22nd.

I was 270 before surgery and now 251. Totally excited! BP coming down drastically, walking seems easier, clothes fit way differently.

I haven’t had anything really ‘come back up’ after eating it, just some full sensations. I too am badly constipated. Doc gave me Rex for Docusate sodium, but not working great.

All the best! 😊

I put miralax in Powerade zero (blue one) and it worked. Couldn’t taste it.

Remember that the way you're eating is based on what you can tolerate now. Later it will change. And change again. Good luck!

Have more of the Fiber items like Beans that will help some. Remember, your intake is much lower than before. If you were a daily pooper, you now may be every other day just due to not having a large volume of significant intake. My doc recommended milk of magnesia as the last resort for being clogged up. The biggest caution was to not let yourself get dehydrated if you use that stuff. Have you tried stool softners? That was their recommendation to our class if you weren't really making progress on your own.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
