I agree that you can do that once you reach your goal weight but according to your chart you have 80 more pounds to loose. Why delay it by eating un-healthy fast food? I know that I have had plenty of fast food in my day and yes its hard giving it up but since we have gone to such drastic measures to loose weight - work it! I know that I don't want to live the rest of my life with the mentality that food is a reward. You have to re-think how you look at food its not a reward its fuel for your body. When you fill your car up do let gas flow onto the ground? No, why not do the same for your body? I am not judging but I think that you need to stick to the plan until you reach your goal.

Everyone is different, don't knock me for doing what works for me. I'm losing weight at a good pace and I eat VERY healthy except those two meals a week. I don't know how long you have been banded but I've been banded 4 months now, and I know I'm doing good.

OK - I have lost 32lbs in six weeks, sticking to the plan and exercising. I am not knocking you - you asked a question and I answered - you sound a bit defensive - would your doc and nutritionist say eat it? I just think that you need to use food for fuel. From Chick-Fil-A's web site for just the nuggets is below

Calories260Calories from fat120 Total Fat13g20%Saturated fat2.5g13%Trans fat0gCholesterol70mg23%Sodium840mg35%Carbohydrates10g3%

vs. the Grilled chicken

Its in the numbers - oh and that does not include the cole slaw, its below

You ARE knocking me and trying to make me feel bad for the way I handle MY body and MY band. For your information, my doctor knows EXACTLY what I eat and has NO problem with it. He even told me it's better to treat yourself every once in a while so you don't feel like you are being denied the things you love. Also, if someone could just magically rethink the way they look at food, there would be no need for the band. I'm also going to venture to guess you have a higher BMI than I do and that is why the weight is coming off faster for you than me. I have a friend who was banded exactly 6 weeks ago and he's lost 36lbs but he weighs 450 lbs. Don't try to make me feel bad for the progress I've made and make it look like you have this ALL figured out and you are such a pro at this, you're barely a couple months out.

WOW you are super defensive - I may be a few weeks out but I had to spend months going to dr's and a nutritionist before I could get the surgery and I have learned a lot of things and one of those is to not eat fast food, my starting BMI is LOWER than yours @ 34, I am just saying my dr just has a different approach and that is fast food is out. Knock yourself out - have all the nuggets you want - its just not good for you and I was suggesting you take the healthy option but you don't want to so dont. Sheez!

My question is why are you eating friedf fast food? Chick-Fil-A has a better option, just get the grilled chicken sandwich and eat only the chicken.< /div>

It always puzzles me when a person asks a question seeking information and is responded to like this . . . Do you honestly think I don't know the grilled chicken would have been a better option? Did you see the statement that I don't ALWAYS eat like this? My question was intended for people who would provide me with good information, as everyone else did.

Good for you Bird that you've got it all figured out.

Thanks everyone else for the information.

Lynn

It is human nature for most to become defensive when they feel they are being talked down to.

You are so very right! For me, banded life is about learning moderation. ANY kind of food is ok in moderation, and a couple of chicken nuggets a week is moderation. And I don't know about you, but I can't handle grilled or baked chicken. It comes right back up. But a couple of nuggets won't. And 260 calories for a meal is not excessive! I do not count fat, Protein, or carbs. I only loosely count calories because that's the ultimate equation -- calories in v. calories out. I'm quite happy with my weight loss and have never once felt deprived since being banded. Try to ignore those with the holier than thou attitude. They tend to forget that we're all different.

Look up two posts and see what she responded to me - there ARE 450 lb people on this board and to me she is putting them down. Don't ask for an opinion if you only want people to agree with you.

I don't have it all figured out - I am just simply saying that until one reaches there goal why not go with the healthy option. How do you argue that?

Easily. The healty option may not be what I want, what I crave, or what I can handle as a banded person. The healthiest option may cause a PB. The healthiest option, especially taken repeatedly, may make me feel deprived, which will result in my losing my control and binging on food that I should have allowed myself to have in moderation in the first place.

I was the original poster on this thread and I am sorry you seemed to have misunderstood the question. It was a QUESTION and not an OPINION that I was asking for. Pretty much yes or no, can you eat this much in one sitting? I am not sure how you misunderstood that, but apparently you did.

Because of the good information I was given, I have decided that I do need a fill and have scheduled that.

This board is great when people help each other out. Thanks again to those of you who shared your expertise.

I couldn't have said it better enterprise01 - thanks.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
