blacknamaste 0 Posted January 11, 2005 Hey, I had my surgery a week ago. Im feeling alright but just a litlle bored with the diet at this stage. Im not from America so when u say broth does that just mean regular Soup in a packet or even a quick stirr in. Are smoothies ok for the first two weeks. I was on Jello and juices at the hospital. HarleyNana 10 Posted January 11, 2005 sugar free popcicles are good too. My doctor told me anything that would go through a straw. I did a lot of that Campbells hand of Soup, but read the ingredients, some have much higher calories. Good luck and welcome.
Iluvharleys 15 Posted January 11, 2005 Welcome to bandland! broth is the juice you get from cooking meat like beef or chicken. We can buy it here in the can or carton. Jello, hot tea, and Protein Drinks are all good for you.
whippledaddy 5 Posted January 11, 2005 Here in the U.S. we call it broth. You probably call it meat stock. Clear, no fat, but here it is very high in sodium. When I started my Clear liquids I was so hungry that my beef stock (buillion) tasted like pure heaven! I've eaten tons of food (sometimes at one sitting) and never had anything taste so wonderful. That first sip of broth was like kissing a lover after a long separation. Good luck! And remember, get all your medical advice from your own doc. Ask him what he meant by broth. food can be known by many names.
New Hope 37 Posted January 12, 2005 Hi, how much weight are you wanting to lose? I guess "jello" and "campbells soup" are good old American products. How long are you supposed to be on liquids? Clear Liquids? or Full Liquids? The full gives you some more options...like yogurt, cream-based Soups and are a little more filling. Hang in there. It's temporary!
